Coffee. I have a love, LOVE relationship with it.
When we decided to travel full time having a coffee maker was an absolute necessity and non-negotiable appliance for me to bring.
When we lived in a brick and mortar, I had a whole coffee station set up. Espresso machine with steam frothed, keurig, and many more coffee essentials I won’t bore you with. But bringing the espresso machine wasn’t in the cards because of the space it took up. Luckily I had a small keurig that fit perfectly on our counter in the camper.
Then I found myself drinking more and more coffee. Getting a pot to brew was inevitable. So I just bought a cheap $18 one from the grocery store. Then last week this happened. 😭
Yes. That is a broken coffee pot hanging out on my floor. I was deviststed. My lifeline was now in pieces!
So the hunt began for a new lifeline and one that would outlast my clumsiness and withstand camper living.
I like to search deals and get the best for my money when I am purchasing an appliance. No idea why I cheaped out on the last coffee pot.
I looked at all the major stores and got an idea of what I wanted. I really wanted a Ninja Coffee Bar, but decided against it because of the space limitations in my kitchen.
I also decided I wanted a delayed timer so I can set it to make my coffee for first thing in the morning. After all my searching, checking deals, etc…. I decided on this.
It is a Mr. Coffee 10 Cup Optimal Brew Thermal Coffee Maker. Why did I chose this particular coffee maker?
I will just say it. I am a coffee snob. I admitted it, let’s move on. Haha! But this Optimal Brew Coffee Maker is designed to extract the fullest amount of flavor possible. Did you know that if you don’t brew your coffee between 195-205 degrees Fahrenheit, you will not get the best possible extraction of the coffee from the bean. Colder water will result in flat, under-extracted coffee, while water that is too hot will also cause a loss of quality in the taste of the coffee. (yup… told ya, coffee snob, LOL)
Anyway… back to the topic at hand, the Mr. Coffee 10 Cup Optimal Brew Thermal Coffee Maker. I chose this maker because it has a double-walled, stainless steel thermal carafe holds that fresh flavor and temperature, without a warming plate, to maintain coffee’s true character and taste. Plus, all the programmable conveniences are included, like Delay Brew to stir your senses as you wake up to aromatic, freshly-brewed coffee and Grab-A-Cup Auto Pause, for that rich-tasting cup you may need before the brew cycle finishes. It includes a water filtration disk to filter out chlorine and impurities from water during brewing so you can enjoy better taste as it’s meant to be.
This coffee maker also has a special cleaning cycle helps maintain the performance and coffee taste Fresh Brew Timer ensures your coffee is hot, fresh and ready when you want it. It also has a 2-Hour Auto Shut-Off automatically shuts off the coffee maker. Which let’s face it, we have all walked out the door at one point or another and wondered if we turned off the coffee pot. I do it quite often because my ADD and my focus issues. Last feature I really like is it has a removable water reservoir for easy filling. I would always go to dump the water from the pot to the back of the machine and inevitably miss.
So… why do I think this is the best coffee maker for your RV? Because the quality of the coffee that comes out is AMAZING. Also, it really does not take up much space. Space is always an issue when working within an RV, so something that is easily movable and doesn’t take up much space in the first place is ideal.
Do I think that this is an amazing coffee maker? It is for the price. You cannot beat a deal for a GREAT cup of joe!
